Directions to Oxford and Abingdon

All scheduled trips depart from our Head office at Folly Bridge.

Private Charters can depart either from Folly Bridge or from our slipway at Donnington Bridge.

Oxford, Folly Bridge

Salters’ boats depart from below our head office on Folly bridge (which is the road which links St Aldates to the Abingdon road – nearest postcode is OX1 4LA). Approach the city from the south, taking the Abingdon road (A4144) into Oxford from the Redbridge roundabout. The landing stage is on the right hand side as you pass over Folly bridge (on the opposite side of the river from the well-known riverside pub Head of the River).

Nearest parking is at the Westgate shopping centre on Oxpens road or customers can use the Park and Ride from the Redbridge roundabout. Oxford train station is 0.8 miles from Folly bridge and coach parking is on the Oxpens road by the Oxford ice-rink.

Oxford, Donnington Bridge

Salters’ boats depart from our slipway on Meadow Lane (nearest postcode is OX4 4BL). Approach the city centre from the south (as above) and at the traffic lights (with the Tescos Express on the corner) turn right down weirs lane.

After going over Donnington bridge take the first right down Meadow Lane and Salters slipway is the second drive on the right hand side (where free parking is available). Oxford train station is 1.6 miles from Donnington bridge and coaches can park on site provided notice is given.

Abingdon

Salters’ boats depart from Abingdon Bridge Marine (nearest postcode is OX14 3HX). From the A34 take the turn for either Abingdon (north) or Abingdon (south) and follow the road straight into the town centre.

Upon reaching the one-way system follow the road round clockwise until you see the left turn for Bridge street (A415), which leads to Culham. Car Parking can be found next to The Coach park on the left hand side after crossing the River.
